I Gave The Pope A Rhino

Lyrics by Paul Muldoon

Paintings by Paul Wright

I Gave the Pope a Rhino will feature twelve new lyrics from Paul Muldoon. Each lyric will be illustrated by a painting by artist Paul Wright. The text in the book will be letterpress printed by John Grice at The Evergreen Press but the images have been digitally reproduced. John Grice has supervised the whole printing process so the standards will be as high as usual. The book will be published in August 2017. For more information or to pre-order, please contact me.

Some examples of Paul Wright's work for the book are shown below though these images will be slightly different in the final publication due to the demands of printing.

There will, once again, be 3 versions of the book. 75 copies of the standard version, 26 copies of the deluxe version and 5 copies of the presentation edition. The presentation edition will be leather bound, housed in a solander box and will include a portfolio of the 12 images Paul Wright has done for the book. As usual all versions will be signed by both the author and poet.

Prices for this book are higher than my previous publications. This is largely because of the costs of the digital printing element which have been significant.

The standard edition will be priced at £150 plus £7.50 P&P. The deluxe edition will be priced at £195 plus £10 P&P. The presentation edition will be £500 plus £15 P&P. I don't yet have an image of the finished version of the Presentation edition.

I have also produced a broadside of one of the lyrics 'Nothing On You' - only 45 copies of the broadside will be available for sale. Each copy has been signed by both the author and artist. An image of the broadside can be seen below. The broadside is priced at £75 plus P&P.

The 12 lyrics in the book have been released as a CD
and is available from Academic Records (PO Box 31, Sharon Springs, NY 13459) and as a download from CD Baby.
